Workshops for schools on safe Internet took place within Cybersecurity Week in Baku

On March 11-15, workshops dedicated to the topic of safe Internet were held for the pupils of several secondary schools of Baku within the framework of the Cybersecurity Week. The workshops took place with the organizational support of the Ministry of Edcuation and participation of “AzEduNet”, “Enginet”, “Microsoft” and “Bakcell” companies.

During the workshops, the pupils were informed about the largest education network of the country – Azerbaijan Education Network which is at the moment covering more than 2800 secondary schools and education enterprises all over the country and provides those organizations with Internet and Intranet services. It was mentioned that one of the main advantages of the Azerbaijan Education Network is the protection of the children studying at schools from hazardous impact of the Internet. Thus, Internet delivered to schools within this network is automatically cleared from any harmful and undesired content and that way pupils become able to use the Internet only for the educational and personel development purposes.

The importance of using the safe Internet not only at schools but also outside the coverage of the Azerbaijan Education Network was also stressed at the workshops. In this regard, the pupils were made aware of the rules and recommendations on safe and responsible use of the online technologies and mobile devices.

At the end of the workshops the pupils were presented educational materials on the topic of the safe Internet.
