ENGINET launch a social campaign on impact of Internet on children

The first Azerbaijani FTTH services provider, ENGINET company, together with the “Logos” Psychological and Speech Development Center and the Psychological Service and Research Public Union (PSRPU), launched a joint social campaign on the topic of the impact of the Internet on the juvenile psychology.

The campaign aiming to protect children against the harmful impact of the Internet outside the schools is implemented under the project “Safe Internet” carried out by ENGINET and its partner, the first mobile operator of Azerbaijan, Bakcell, with the support of the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic.

It has been already two years that ENGINET together with Bakcell and under its BİRLink trademark provides the service of filtered (safe) Internet intended for the children. With the help of this service, the subscribers of Bakcell are able to protect their children from any kind of hazardous and undesired content on the Internet even outside the secondary schools, just via activating this service on a child’s cellular phone, tablet or computer.

The first meeting organized within this social campaign was intended for the volunteers and students of PSRPU as well as the parents and psychological staff of the Logos Center. During the meeting, the clinical psychologist of Logos, Shahin Aliyev, delivered a training on the impact of the Internet on the child psychology and ways of protection against the negative influence of the web.

The participants of the meeting were also informed about the “Safe Internet” project of ENGINET and Bakcell as well as the Internet filtration service, and received answers to their questions on the topic.

As the continuation of the social campaign, the psychologists and teachers of Logos will be educating about the Internet filtration service the parents of the children who complete the rehabilitation process and are allowed to use the Internet.

It should be noted that the Internet filtration service provided by ENGINET restricts the access to 18 mln. webpages on 90 thematic groups containing harmful or unsafe content for the children.
